Pneumatic Rotary Single Acting Actuator 180 Degree Rotate
Specifications
The single-acting pneumatic rotary actuator with 180° rotation is used to control 3-way and 4-way valves. This actuator is designed under the international standard ISO 5211 for quick and easy mounting. It works on rack and pinion-type transmissions. The extruded aluminum hard anodized body and nitrile seals equipped single acting actuators to have aluminum pressure die-cast caps and racks. The middle pinion is made from EN8 casting material. With 180° rotation, it can generate up to 253 NM torque. Its required normal air pressure is 3Kg/cm² and a maximum 8Kg/cm².
Mechanism
The single acting pneumatic actuator is also called the “spring return” actuator. There are two springs set in the chamber at the end of the pistons. Both pistons have a rack connected at their end and both racks rotate the central pinion. When pneumatic air pushes the pistons, the springs are shrunk. At the time of the release of the air pressure, springs push back pistons to their earlier position. Hence one cycle is complete.
In comparison to double acting pneumatic rotary actuators, the single acting actuators are low in price. Required minimum maintenance because of simple mechanisms. Required fewer seals than a double acting actuator, leads to minimal air loss.
